We Help Good People
Childers & McCain is a boutique Georgia injury law firm. Three attorneys. A defined case focus. And a guiding principle that has not changed: we help good people navigate the legal system after serious accidents and injuries, and we take those cases to trial when trial is what it takes.
Christy and David personally handle every case the firm accepts. You work with your attorneys throughout the process, not a rotation of case managers.
The firm serves clients from our Macon office across Georgia, including Warner Robins, Atlanta, Savannah, and Columbus, and accepts referrals and co-counsel arrangements from other trial attorneys.

Serious Cases Require a Different Kind of Attorney
As personal injury lawyers in Georgia who concentrate on trucking, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death, Childers & McCain are built for the cases where preparation, credentials, and trial experience are the deciding factors. This is not a general practice.
Probate
Guiding families through the Illinois probate process with clarity, care, and confidence.
Guardianship
Compassionate assistance for families seeking legal authority to care for minors or loved ones who can no longer manage their own affairs.
Trust Administration
Provide clear guidance to help trustees carry out their duties in compliance with Illinois law.
Truck Accidents
Christy is the first woman in Georgia board certified in truck accident law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and has testified as a qualified expert witness in trucking litigation in trial. When a commercial carrier assigns their defense team, Christy and David are already prepared for every stage of what follows.
Catastrophic Injuries
Spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, amputations, and other life-altering harm require attorneys who understand both the medical complexity of these cases and the full scope of long-term damages. We handle catastrophic injury cases with the preparation and commitment serious outcomes demand, through trial when that is what it takes.
Motor Vehicle Accidents
Car accidents, motorcycle crashes, rideshare incidents, bicycle and pedestrian collisions, bus accidents, boat accidents, and drunk driving cases across Georgia. When a vehicle accident produces serious injury, the firm brings the same trial preparation it applies to commercial vehicle cases.
Premises & Product Cases
Slip and fall, premises liability, dog bite injuries, defective products, and dangerous drugs. When a property owner's negligence or a defective product causes serious harm, the firm pursues all available liability — not just the most accessible defendant.
Workers' Compensation
Workers' compensation matters are accepted on a referral basis. If your workplace injury involves a third-party claim — a commercial vehicle, defective equipment, or a property owner's negligence — that personal injury case may run alongside your comp claim and recover significantly more.

Attorneys Who Prepare, Publish, Teach, and Try
Christy Crowe Childers is the first woman in Georgia board certified in truck accident law by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and one of the first five women nationally to hold that certification. She received the 2024 NBTA President's Award for her dedication to the advocacy of women in trial law and her commitment to seriously injured clients. She is nationally recognized for her work on damages strategy, speaks at conferences across the country, and founded the Mother Truckers Rally, an annual hands-on training conference for women truck accident attorneys. She is the author of a trial method book for lawyers and has been published in Verdict Magazine and the AAJ Trucking Litigation Group Journal.
David H. McCain has represented seriously injured clients since 2007. He and Christy share one litigation philosophy: cases are prepared for trial from the first day they are opened.
Over 40 years of combined experience. Every case handled personally.
What Georgia Injury Victims Should Know
Georgia's Senate Bill 68, signed April 21, 2025, changed how civil injury cases are evaluated in the state, affecting damages recovery, negligent security claims, and overall case valuation. For anyone navigating a serious injury claim in Georgia today, understanding those changes and selecting an attorney who does is a meaningful part of how a case unfolds.

Common Questions
About Working With Childers & McCain
What makes a truck accident case different from a car accident case?
Truck accident cases involve federal regulations — specifically FMCSA Hours of Service requirements, commercial vehicle maintenance standards, and carrier liability obligations — that simply do not apply in standard car accident claims. Building a truck accident case means obtaining black box data, driver logs, and maintenance records, and understanding how federal and Georgia law interact in commercial vehicle litigation. The scope of investigation is fundamentally different from a standard collision claim.
Do I need a specialized truck accident attorney?
Commercial carriers and their insurers respond to serious truck accident claims with experienced defense teams quickly. An attorney who understands trucking regulations, carrier liability structures, and damages strategy in this context is better positioned to meet that level of preparation. Board certification in truck accident law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy is one of the clearest indicators that an attorney has built a practice around commercial vehicle cases specifically.
What sets Childers & McCain apart from other Georgia injury firms?
Christy is the first woman in Georgia board certified in truck accident law by the NBTA, one of the first five nationally, and is recognized across the country for her work on damages strategy. She teaches at national trucking boot camps and has testified as an expert witness in trucking litigation in trial. She and David personally handle every case the firm accepts. Childers & McCain does not operate as a high-volume intake practice.
How do I find a Georgia injury lawyer who handles trucking cases?
Board certification in truck accident law from the National Board of Trial Advocacy requires a demonstrated trial record and peer evaluation — it is one of the clearest indicators that an attorney has built a practice around commercial vehicle litigation. Christy holds that certification and is one of the only attorneys in middle Georgia who does.
